Skin Care FAQ

All facial spa treatments are customized for anti-aging results and relaxation right in Tampa Bay.

What is an enzyme peel?

Enzymes digest protein, which includes dead surface skin cells. They differ from chemical peels as they allow for exfoliation without sensitivity, redness, or peeling. You may have seen this offered as an add-on treatment to boost results; however, we incorporate them into all of our facial treatments and peels to ensure maximum results. Our enzymes are applied in multiple steps and blended just before use to ensure maximum activity while they are being used for treatments, not while they are sitting in the jar.

What should I do to prepare for a chemical peel?

Chemical peels may be received individually, in a series, or with a facial. In preparation for your peel, please be sure you have not used any topical retinol for at least two days. Steroids and antibiotics must have been completed at least two weeks before your scheduled appointment. Other medications, such as Accutane®, require completion for several months before a chemical peel treatment. Please be sure to plan your chemical peel when you will not be exposed to sun, heat or other environmental stressors for 48 hours afterwards. Please contact us with any questions.

How long after a facial may I apply makeup?

We recommend forgoing makeup the day of your facial, especially if you are prone to breakouts or congestion. Facials allow for deep pore cleansing and exfoliation which leaves your skin clean, bright, and ready to absorb active ingredients. For best results leave our active ingredients  and SPF on and skip everything else.

How long must sun exposure be avoided for?

While we believe safe sun is always important for your skin, including the consistent use of sunscreen, we do understand that Florida offers much natural beauty to enjoy. Many of our facial services offer great results without photosensitivity. However, if you are interested in treatments such as chemical peels you must speak with your aesthetician to ensure your lifestyle and schedule allow for beneficial results.

May I receive a facial with eyelash extensions?

Absolutely. We understand it's best to wait a minimum of 24-48 hours after your lash appointment before receiving your facial. You may also plan your facial appointment for before your lash fill. If requested, we will also be happy to entirely avoid your eye area. Please verify any recommendations from your preferred lash artist as well.

May I receive a facial after Botox® or cosmetic fillers?

After receiving Botox® or fillers, you must wait at least ten days before any facial treatment, peel. However, you may schedule your facial treatment before.

How often should I receive a facial?

We recommend monthly facials to maintain your skin as this allows for exfoliation, hydration and balance after being exposed to daily environmental pollution and sun. Monthly deep pore cleansing is especially important for those with acneic skin. We may suggest additional treatments when we first begin working with you to help you best achieve your goals.

Should I bring my current skin care products?

Yes, absolutely. If it's your first time seeing us for skin care services, we highly recommend you bring your current routine with you. Home care is crucial to you achieving your goals and maintaining your skin. Aside from making sure our treatment takes your routine into consideration, using incorrect products is not only a lost opportunity to help, but may be detrimental. Allow us to review your routine with you for the best possible results.
